This week our specialist damp surveyor visited a property in Swindon. The damp issues were initially thought to be caused by condensation, however, the surveyor identified elevated moisture meter readings which did not correlate with condensation nor rising damp. Further questioning and investigation led to the discovery of a severe leak which was emerging from the cold water feed to the bathtub in the adjoining bathroom.

Specialist damp surveys should be carried out by a qualified damp proofing surveyor with a minimum of a CSRT (Certificated Surveyor in Remedial Treatments) qualification as required by the Property Care Association (PCA).
